INFANT BAPTISM 嬰兒洗禮

In the sacrament of Baptism, Parents’ presenting their child for baptism are accepting the responsibility of training their child in the practice of faith.  It is their Christian duty to bring their child up to keep God’s commandments as Christ taught us, by loving God and our neighbour.

Non-Catholic parents who give their consent to have their child baptised do not need to do anything that is against their religion or personal belief.  They need to be fully aware of the meaning and implication of baptism. Walking with the child on the journey of life and faith is the role of the entire Christian community, but it is a particular responsibility of the child’s godparents(s).

Godparents are mentors and guides in faith for the newly baptized.  Parents may choose up to 2 official Godparents. Godparents must be practising catholic and over the age of 16.

Procedures: If you wish to have your child baptised, please complete the Infant Baptism Application Form and submit together with a copy of your child’s Birth Certificate to CCPC Office at least one week before the date of Baptism.
